The Dart Zone Pro Mk-4 has been out for a little while now. It is a solid release – we’ll talk about that later – but it has a couple of small deficiencies we’re going to fix right now.
The most objective criticism of the Mk-4 is the inability to use the included scar, which proved quite effective, on the supercharger. We’ve fixed that. Now on printables, you can find two replacement end pieces for the Supercharger Muzzle.
The first allows you to use the Dart Zone provided PCAR. This is the easiest option. Simply open the Supercharger, replace the existing endcap with the new one, and close it back up. Depending on your printer, you may want a little e-tape or the like for a slightly tighter fit. We found comparable results in our testing without a tighter seal – but your mileage may vary.
The second might be even more fun. It uses the ubiquitous Sillybutts collet system to allow you to put in a longer barrel of any practical length. This will allow you to drop in a replacement barrel of any length and add your preferred external scar. Installation is just as simple. Open the Supercharger, remove the endcap and barrel, replace the endcap, and put it back together. Once closed up, you can put in any length of 13mm barrel you see fit – we used a recycled Zuru Longshot barrel – down the collet center. Add a 016 o-ring and tighten it up with the Silly Collet of your choice. We’re partial to the one in this remix.
In our testing, the results were mostly as expected. We had no real drop-off between the endcaps with the stock barrel and the PCAR dropped things predictably. Using the collet we had a small uptick in FPS but we didn’t optimize for length. Let us know how it works for you!
